Cambridge Internship | ML/AI/3D Team
During this 10-12 week internship, you’ll join our teams at our Cambridge office, where you’ll take on meaningful tasks and contribute as a full team member.
You’ll gain experience in various technical real-life projects with the opportunity to learn and shape how we do our work.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and deploying practical machine-learning for solutions to real engineering problems.
- Advancing automated design in 3D or 2D for greener and more efficient electric motors.
- Conducting scientifically rigorous and reducible research into cutting-edge clean technology.
- Participating in impactful projects. Past interns, for example, have demonstrated that surface information is sufficient to estimate vital motor metrics such as torque, even on highly irregular training data. Their results have increased our body of evidence that end-to-end learning can be more efficient than specialized models that directly estimate intermediate physical fields.

What We’re Looking For
To be eligible for this internship, you should meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for computational and theoretical work.
- Great communication skills and the ability to collaborate well in a team.
- Confidence with numerical computing software such as NumPy, Torch, JAX, Tensorflow, or Julia.
- Eligibility to work in the UK or a valid UK student visa.
