Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
Monumo is fully committed to conducting business with integrity and transparency. We oppose all forms of modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking and recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, in all its forms, and commit to ensure that such practices are not taking place within our own operations and, to the extent possible, within our supply chain.
While we believe the risk of modern slavery within our business is low, we remain aware of the broader risks that exist across industries and supply chains and will practice ongoing awareness and vigilance.
This statement outlines the steps we take to ensure transparency and compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Monumo is a UK-based deeptech engineering company, operating primarily in the professional services sector. We employ approximately 30 people.
Today our supply chain is relatively limited and primarily involves providers of professional services, office supplies, IT equipment, and premises-related services. We do not import physical goods on a large scale, are not involved with manufacturing ourselves and we do not operate in high-risk jurisdictions.
Our Approach
To date, our focus has been on understanding our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act and identifying the most appropriate steps for our business context. While formal processes are still developing, we take seriously our ethical responsibilities and are beginning to integrate this awareness into our internal thinking and planning.
At present, our general approach includes:
• Acknowledging modern slavery as a global issue relevant to all businesses;
• Ensuring our people are aware of the basic principles of the Act and the types of exploitation it covers;
• Maintaining open channels for employees to raise concerns, including through our Whistleblowing Policy.
We are committed to gradually strengthening our internal policies and procedures to better address this issue.
Looking Ahead
Monumo will continue to review and strengthen our policies, processes, and due diligence practices to address the risks of modern slavery. We are committed to working collaboratively with our suppliers and stakeholders to foster ethical business practices and ensure that modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chains.
As our understanding matures, we intend to develop a more structured response, which may include:
• Carrying out an internal review of our suppliers to identify any areas of higher risk;
• Introducing basic training or guidance for staff, particularly those involved in procurement or recruitment;
• Reviewing our internal policies to ensure modern slavery considerations are appropriately reflected.
We recognise that meaningful change is ongoing, and we are taking a measured but committed approach as part of our broader commitment to responsible business practices.
